Craig Davidson MD, speaking at the SEAK Non-Clinical Careers for Physicians Conference gave some of the industry benchmarks.
Life Insurance Medical Directors:
- 52% insurance industry ≥ 15 years
- 60% full time
- Job title medical director or CMO
- Many also AVP or VP
- 44% work remotely at least part of the time
- 57% board certified in insurance medicine

- 12% Southeast
- Salary of a Life Insurance Medical Director (full time)
- Range from 100 – 250k
- 47% between $151,000 and $200,000
- Most also had bonuses
- 31% received stock options and grants
